Championship side Blackburn Rovers have made an official request to speak to Manchester United under-21 manager Warren Joyce regarding the current managerial vacany at Ewood Park.
Blackburn’s 15th-placed finish this season was reason enough for Paul Lambert to activate a release clause in his contract and step down as manager, and now the Rovers have at least shortlisted Warren Joyce as a candidate for the job, according to the Daily Telegraph
Joyce, who this season managed the under-21 Red Devils to their third top division title in the past four seasons, is highly valued by the Old Trafford board and will not be let go without a fight – but this does present a massive opportunity for his career.

Over the years, Joyce has managed such youth products as Paul Pogba, Adnan Januzaj, Paddy McNair and Robbie Brady since taking over as under-21 manager back in 2010.
The work of Louis van Gaal in his time as United manager has perhaps exposed Joyce’s talents further, as the Dutchman handed debuts to the likes of Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Jesse Lingard, all of whom have come under the tutelage of Warren Joyce.
