Manchester United and Spain goalkeeper David de Gea has been named alongside fellow Spaniard Iker Muniain in a claim of sexual assault, according to El Diario.

The Spanish news outlet say that a protected witness in the ongoing investigation into pornography company, Torbe, has implicated De Gea and Muniain in the case.

Torbe is owned by Ignacio Fernandez Allende, who was jailed last April on charges of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, sexual assault, child pornography, extortion, those related to prostitution and against public health, as well as money laundering.

The witness claims that David de Gea arranged with Torbe for her to be waiting in a hotel room in Madrid, where she was then sexually assaulted. De Gea is not said to have been involved in the claimed assault itself, but if proven guilty of the claim against him, arranging the meeting would be considered a serious criminal misendeavour in itself.

Freelance journalist Rafael Hernandez also states that De Gea has been named in a separate claim, for supposedly more of the same conduct:

It is important to remember that this allegation against David de Gea and Iker Muniain is only that as of yet – an allegation.

It is not known yet whether or not Vicente del Bosque will take any action as to De Gea’s place in Spain’s Euro 2016 squad.
