Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has set his sights on retiring at Old Trafford.
Rooney, who has just received great news in that Sam Allardyce wants him to continue has role as captain of the national team, has revealed that he does not want to move away from United as his career comes to an end.
The 30-year-old revealed that he will retire from Three Lions duties following the World Cup in Russia in 2018, should England qualify for it – but he’ll likely be playing for United for years beyond that.

Speaking of his situation at United, Rooney said (via M.E.N) –
“I’ve said to United I want to stay there, finish my career there. So it’s a case of sitting down with United when the time’s right.” “I’ve still got three years left. When I speak to them, I’ll have a better idea. I hopefully want to finish my career at United.”
Rooney was vital in the continuation of United’s winning run this weekend as he produced a moment of inspired play late on, beating two men to cross for Marcus Rashford to score a stoppage time winner against Hull City.
