United’s last five trips to Turkey

Manchester United will play their first match in Turkey since 2012 when they come up against Fenerbahce on Thursday evening.

The Red Devils will take on Dick Advocaat’s side in their fourth Europa League group stage game, with United and Feyenoord currently sitting joint top on six points each.

And Jose Mourinho’s men could all but secure qualification to the knockout stages with a win in Turkey and a favourable result in the other game between Feyenoord and Zorya Luhansk.

However, United haven’t fared so well on their travels in European competition in recent times, having won just one of their last seven away from home in last season’s Europa League and Champions League.

Mourinho has selected a strong squad for the trip east though, and the Portuguese coach would surely come away incredibly disappointed if United fail to earn at least a point.
