Relegation-threatened West Ham are looking to make an ambitious January loan move for either Marcus Rashford or Anthony Martial from Manchester United, according to The Telegraph.
The Hammers have struggled in front of goal this season, with midfielder Michail Antonio their top scorer in the Premier League with seven goals. Strikers Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho have scored a combined two goals between them, which has contributed to Slaven Bilic’s men underwhelming so far.
Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi had been earmarked as West Ham’s number one target in the transfer window, but with the Blues reluctant to let the Belgian leave temporarily, the Hammers have turned to an unlikely move for either Martial or Rashford.

It’s fair to say that José Mourinho will not let either man leave Old Trafford on a temporary basis in January, but both Martial and Rashford have had lean second seasons after breaking through under Louis van Gaal last season.
England international Rashford has not started since a 1-1 draw against West Ham in the Premier League in November, where he was substituted after 65 minutes. The 19-year-old has not scored since late September and has been played out wide on the left instead of his preferred role up front.
Meanwhile, Martial has recovered from some poor form to shine for United in recent weeks, although he did not start in the Reds’ recent victories against Crystal Palace and West Brom in the Premier League. He did start against West Ham in the League Cup and scored a double in a 4-1 win.
