Manchester United vs Liverpool – it is always billed to be an absolute corker of a game. United fans will happily tell you that it’s a bigger game, a more emotionally charged one, than the visit of their noisy neighbours, Manchester City.
Liverpool fans generally say the same, given that their more local rivals, Everton, aren’t of the same calibre as the Red Devils.
Historically, both of the teams in red have had success both domestically and in Europe – boasting some fantastic, top bracket players.
Debate rages on, and always will, as to which the better side is. Whilst Jose Mourinho’s United side includes the mercurial Zlatan Ibrahimovic and world-record transfer Paul Pogba, Liverpool boast such talents as Phillipe Coutinho and the up-and-coming Divock Origi.
We’ve come up with a combined eleven using the players from both squads – with mind to availability for this weekend’s fixture. This means that injured/suspended/otherwise unavailable players will not be included – even though Bailly is a shoe-in.
