The Manchester derby comes to the forefront again on Thursday night, as United and City face off in a game that could well decide the fate of this season’s top four in the Premier League.
With José Mourinho’s side comfortably beating relegation strugglers Burnley on Sunday afternoon, United now sit just a point behind fourth-placed City, with both sides having two games in hand on Liverpool in third place.
A win for the Reds at the Etihad Stadium will propel them into fourth, while a winning margin of three goals or more for Mourinho’s men will put them into third ahead of Liverpool, with a game still in hand.
However, City will be smarting from an extra-time FA Cup semi-final defeat to Arsenal at Wembley and Pep Guardiola will be expecting a response from his charges in order to cement their place in the top four come the end of the season.
