Unsurprisingly, the attention of football fans during the summer transfer window is on incoming players – who might the club sign? What kind of players do the club need? Who has been confirmed already? What prices are players going for?
However, selling players can be just as important as sealing deals for new faces at any club.
Manchester United are a club who could certainly benefit from selling some of the players who are further down the pecking order – or players who have simply failed to perform in the famous red shirt.
We posed the question to the fans of who United should keep and sell – and we now have the results.
In terms of the most valued players, the ones the fans want to see kept at Old Trafford, the top three were:
- Henrikh Mkhitaryan (188 votes to keep, 46 to sell)
- Marcus Rashford (176 votes to keep, 42 to sell)
- Antonio Valencia (181 votes to keep, 49 to sell)
Surprisingly, Sergio Romero fared better than David de Gea and rather inexplicably, 51 people think Axel Tuanzebe should leave this summer.
But anyway, we’re not here to debate that (although there should be not debate!) – we’re here to tell you who the fans voted for most heavily to be sold in the summer transfer window…
