Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Chris Smalling have all been called up to the England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovakia.

All four have been regulars in England squads of the past, with Smalling and Rashford starting in the Three Lions’ last World Cup qualifier – a pulsating 2-2 draw with Scotland at Hampden Park.
Gareth Southgate’s men travel to play Malta on September 1, before returning to host Slovakia at Wembley on September 4. Both games kick off at 7.45pm.
Elsewhere in the England set-up, representation for Reds is slim, with only goalkeeper Dean Henderson, currently on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town, making Aidy Boothroyd’s under-21 side, which contains most of the under-20 side that won the World Cup in South Korea this summer.

The under-21s take on the Netherlands away on September 1, before facing Latvia in Bournemouth four days later.
The other two United players called up for England duty are youngsters Angel Gomes and Aidy Barlow. They are part of Steve Cooper’s under-18 squad, who are preparing for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup this October.
The under-18s will be playing both of the friendlies at home during the international break, hosting Brazil in Shrewsbury on September 1 before facing South Africa in Leek on September 4.
