Manchester United’s opponents this weekend come in the shape of Stoke City.

Managed by United legend Mark Hughes, Stoke have got off to a reasonable start in the Premier League this season, gaining four points from a possible six in a tricky opening three fixtures against Everton, Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion.

The Potters will be hoping to find a way to keep United’s menacing attack quiet; Jose Mourinho’s men have scored 10 goals in their opening three games, without conceding at the other end of the pitch.

Stoke is notoriously a difficult place to go for a Premier League game, with the Potters renowned for a battling, unforgiving style of play in a wet and windy stadium.

Since 1893, when the two teams were known as Newton Heath and Stoke (not Stoke City), their have been 106 games between the pair; United have won 43 of their historical fixtures against Saturday’s opponents, whilst 35 games between the two sides have ended in a draw.
