Manchester United Team News vs Everton (H)

Manchester United are top of both the Premier League and their Champions League group, and are unbeaten in 2017-18.

The signs are good for Jose Mourinho’s side as they look to stretch their unbeaten run to six games when they host Ronald Koeman’s Everton on Sunday afternoon; however, the Red Devils will be without one of their key players when they face The Toffees.

Paul Pogba’s hamstring injury against FC Basel in midweek will likely rule him out for 4-6 weeks, with the most realistic expectation at the moment being a return after the October international break.

The French midfielder is widely regarded as one of the best players in the Premier League and his absence from the side for such a long period could certainly have a negative impact — that said, United do have the squad depth to cope with the loss of their star man, as Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini are both well equipped to start games week in, week out; as is club captain Michael Carrick.

Eric Bailly and Phil Jones will again be available for selection after both missing out on Tuesday night’s Champions League opener through suspension, whilst there are no other injury concerns to report for the Red Devils.

Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian are all set to compete for the full-back spots this weekend, whilst a return to action for Luke Shaw could also be on the cards soon, as the Englishman has been regaining match fitness in United’s reserve side recently.
