Manchester United are reportedly interested in a deal for PSG star Marco Verratti this summer.
Jose Mourinho wants to strengthen his midfield options, with Fred set to join United from Shakhtar Donetsk in the coming days, and Verratti has emerged as another target.
According to a report from the Mirror, the Red Devils have identified the Italian international as their potential marquee signing for the summer, with their hopes of landing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio fading.
Verratti enjoyed another strong season with PSG, helping them reclaim the Ligue 1 title, and it seems Mourinho is an admirer of the midfielder.
The 25-year-old has apparently been lined up as a pivotal part of United’s overhaul in midfield, with a number of changes set to be made to Mourinho’s options in the middle of the park this summer.
It’s claimed that, similarly to last summer, United may need to cough up a huge fee of £100 million if they are to convince PSG to offload Verratti.
