After yet another excellent season at the club, David De Gea is set to sign a new deal at Manchester United, according to the Independent.
The Spaniard, who is currently with his international squad for the World Cup, will dedicate his ‘prime goalkeeper years’ to the club with a new five year deal.

De Gea’s current contract, which was signed in 2015, is set to expire next year. This time, the goalkeeper needed no prompting by Peter Schmeichel or Gary Neville, but instead, seems more settled.
He has emerged, especially so over the last two seasons, as one of Manchester United’s best players. Last season’s performances away to Arsenal and Sevilla will live long in the memory of fans. This contract extension, to paraphrase Arsene Wenger, may be as important as a new signing for Jose Mourinho, who will be looking to build on an underwhelming season in charge.
New manager Julen Lopetegui is thought to be looking for an upgrade Keylor Navas, but it seems Real Madrid will be frustrated once again, having narrowly missed out on the player in the Summer of 2015.
