Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants both Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian to remain at the club, the Mirror reports.
Both players’ futures at the club have been in doubt this summer but it is believed that Mourinho now wants them to both remain with the club at least until January.
The defenders could both still leave in the coming weeks with the summer transfer window still open in some top European leagues. Loan moves within the Premier League are also an option for the pair.
Darmian played all 90 minutes of Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Leicester City last Friday but has been linked with a move to Benfica in recent weeks.
With injuries to both Antonio Valencia and Diogo Dalot, Mourinho is now keen to keep hold of the Italian beyond this summer.
Meanwhile Marcos Rojo is a loan target for for Turkish giants Fenerbahce, despite only signing a new contract with United in March.
Despite Mourinho now wanting to keep hold of both Rojo and Darmian, both players could still leave in January if other defenders are to recover from injuries.
