David de Gea has insisted that he remains “really happy” to be at Manchester United amid speculation surrounding his future at the club.
De Gea’s situation at Old Trafford has always been clouded by scrutiny, with Real Madrid known to have been long-term admirers of the Spain international.
However, the La Liga giants have moved on in recent times, completing the signing of Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea, indicating that De Gea’s future will remain in Manchester.

As quoted by ESPN, the former Atletico Madrid youngster opened up on his plans for the future and hinted that he would be willing to extend his stay at United.
I feel really loved at his club from the fans. I am really happy to play for this club, one of the best clubs in the world, so for me, it’s really good to be part of this club.
De Gea played a particularly important role in United’s recent win in the Premier League. The Spaniard made two impressive saves to deny Watford as the Red Devils came away from Vicarage Road with a 2-1 victory.
United’s number one will be hoping to help his side to their third consecutive competitive win when they face Young Boys in the Champions League group stages on Wednesday.
