Manchester United have seen their latest contract offer for Anthony Martial rejected, according to Sky Sports broadcaster Jim White.
Twitter: It’s understood Anthony Martial has rejected the latest contract offer from @ManUtd – talks to continue in pursuit of an agreement. (@JimWhite)
The France international has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent times, with reports indicating that Bayern Munich would be open to signing him.
Manchester United are evidently keen to keep hold of Martial and have been locked in contract talks with the player for some time now.
However, it seems the Red Devils’ opening offer did not meet the former Monaco man’s demands, with White’s comments revealing that negotiations will continue.
Martial, 22, has made only four Premier League starts this season but has contributed with three goals, with two of these coming in United’s 2-2 draw away at Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.
The versatile attacker remains an important part of United’s plans and the club will be desperate to tie him down to an extension.
