- Manchester United legend Gary Neville buys Mark Goldbridge YouTube channels
- A seven-figure deal
- Goldbridge reacts to announcement
Mark Goldbridge is excited for the future of The United Stand and That’s Football after partnering up with Gary Neville’s The Overlap. The former Manchester United defender has bought Goldbridge’s YouTube channels in a shock seven-figure deal.
The announcement came on Tuesday morning, a day after United’s shambolic 2-1 defeat to Leeds United. MailSport claim that the deal is worth an “undisclosed seven-figure sum” and the idea is to build “one of the most exciting football communities in the world.”
Goldbridge is one of the most successful football YouTubers and podcasters in the world. He has built The United Stand and That’s Football to a remarkable combined 3.7 million subscribers.

The deal will see The United Stand extend to ‘Stick to United’, featuring former players and journalists. A new ‘The Daily United’ channel will cover daily United news but they are also targeting other major European clubs.
Goldbridge said after the deal was announced:
“I’ve spent the last 10 years building The United Stand for Manchester United fans and That’s Football for all fans, and I’m prouder of that than anything I’ve ever done. This deal is about what comes next.”
Goldbridge is famous for his controversial takes and his humorous responses to matches on live streams. He added:
“The Overlap has the ambition, the credibility, and the resources to help me take what I do to the next level.”
Goldbridge also spoke on the deal while streaming on The United Stand on Tuesday morning. He told his viewers:
“This will be my only interview about this because I’m not interested in doing press releases or anything like that because the only people who have put me in this position is you and The United Stand and That’s Football.”
He added:
“I’m not leaving, if anything, this deal we’ve done pretty much confirms I’ll be here for the next five years hopefully ten.”
“We are doing a deal with The Overlap network; this isn’t something that happened last night. This has been worked on for months.”
“This has been worked on for months so all the things I’ve said about ex-players, the club in the last few days and the last few months. This has all been going on while this deal has been worked on. So the change in content people think is gonna happen is hilarious.”
Goldbridge has taken his That’s Football channel into the mainstream over the past year. He secured rights to stream 20 Bundesliga matches live.
Neville on ‘Building Most Exciting Football Communities’

Neville also gave his response to the deal and he is excited to build together with Goldbridge:
“We are building what we believe will become one of the most exciting Independent football communities in the world – one that gives fans direct, personality-led content.”
He added:
“The United Stand and That’s Football are two of the best-known football channels on YouTube, and our intention is to develop them into the most compelling Manchester United and football news channels in the market.”
Neville is the host of The Overlap and serves as executive director of the Sky Sports podcast. He is joined on the show by fellow club legend Roy Keane, Arsenal icon Ian Wright and Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher.
It will be interesting to see how Goldbridge’s podcasts are produced following it’s acquistion. He hasn’t been afraid to call out United’s ownership and several club legends throughout his career as a YouTuber.
