Benjamin Sesko did not enjoy the best of starts to his Manchester United career, but the striker has managed to find his feet at Old Trafford.

The Slovakian has found his confidence and is starting to show the Red Devils faithful why the club spent big to sign him from RB Leipzig. The 22-year-old has scored nine times in the league and is looking to end the season on a high.

Sesko spoke to Sky Sports this week and talked up the team’s improvement under Michael Carrick. He hinted that the experience under Ruben Amorim helped him do better after the change in managers, and he also heaped praise on his teammates.

Sesko: I Want To Win Trophies With Manchester United

Sesko spoke about his debut season at Old Trafford, saying they have done well to recover from the slow start. He believes that the team spirit played a key role in form, adding that the performances under Amorim were a learning curve for the players.

The striker heaped praise on Carrick and his teammates and said:

“I think we did great. Still, some games left, but I think we’re doing great. We have a great spirit in the team. I’m learning a lot from the experience. We are here, great players, great coaching staff. I would like to really achieve some trophies here. I think there would be something that we just can’t forget it, life at all. And of course, we need to do a lot for it, but I believe we have the capacity to do that.”

The Slovakian scored just two goals in his 17 matches under Amorim, despite playing over 1000 minutes. He has already notched five goals in his 11 appearances under Carrick, despite playing under 500 minutes, often in a super-sub role.

Sesko: Bruno Fernandes Should Win Player of Year

Sesko was quizzed about Bruno Fernandes, and the striker lavished praise on his United captain. He hailed the Portuguese midfielder as a leader, highlighting that he has been getting a lot of instructions on the pitch.

The 22-year-old backed his club captain for the Player of the Season award, saying that he has been great this season:

“I’m also getting a lot of instructions from Bruno. Every single training, after training, sometimes before training. Whatever he tells you, just do it, don’t think twice. And that’s what I said. I’m really grateful to have this opportunity to be around him. He’s great. He’s my teammate. And of course, always stand up [for my teammates], yeah, he should win it.”

Fernandes has assisted four of the five goals scored by Sesko under Carrick. The Portuguese star has been backed by several fans and pundits for the Player of the Season award, with Paul Pogba adding that he would have been in the Ballon d’Or talks if he were playing for Manchester City.
