- Casemiro will leave Manchester United next month
- Brazilian will have array of options abroad
- Interest from Inter Miami could spark concern from Ronaldo
The biggest departure from Manchester United is one that has already been announced in Casemiro.
For another club, they will be welcoming a seasoned veteran who is still on top of his game. Despite this, current rumours suggest that the Brazilian’s next home will not be in Europe.
Casemiro has been in fine form this season, rolling back the years in an eccentric fashion. His farewell season at Old Trafford has seen him play 33 times, scoring 9 goals and providing 2 assists. Away from the numbers, he has been a defensive juggernaut under interim boss Michael Carrick despite his advanced years.

Likely Next Home for Casemiro is MLS
According to Sky Sports, Casemiro’s two likely destinations are either Saudi Arabia or the USA. Journalist Lyall Thomas provided an update that suggests that “Inter Miami are strong contenders” for the Brazilian’s signature.
A move to Florida would see him play with superstar Lionel Messi, who is reportedly very keen to play with the former Real Madrid player. Messi is said to be “willing to reduce his salary demands to facilitate such a move”. The feeling is likewise, as Thomas writes that the 34-year-old “wants to play with Lionel Messi”
In February, Inter Miami acquired an international slot from New England Revolution. It paves the way for a superstar signing, which looks likely to be Casemiro. If the move does not work out, the United midfielder also has options in Saudi Arabia “if an Inter move does not materialise”.
Co-owner David Beckham’s side currently sits in third place within the MLS’ Eastern Conference. Casemiro is a top target, given that Sergio Busquets retired from football in December 2025. A void has been left by the former Barcelona midfielder, which can seemingly only be filled with another serial winner.
Could Ronaldo Relationship be Threatened?
Casemiro’s next decision could ruffle some feathers with former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. The pair shared a close bond with each other, primarily at Real Madrid, winning numerous trophies together. On 122 occasions, they both shared the pitch together. In 2022/23, they were reunited at United, and Ronaldo is reportedly said to want the band back together again.
Reports from Marca in March suggested that Ronaldo has tried to convince Casemiro to “join his project in Saudi Arabia” at Al Nassr. However, the United man’s preference is for “he and his family” to live in Miami, which is seen as an ideal destination. Casemiro has earned the right to choose how he spends his twilight years and owes nothing to anyone. Not even to two of the greatest players in history.
Beyond the pitch, Miami offers an enviable blend of culture and climate while keeping him much closer to his native Brazil. Ultimately, his decision could reignite the Messi-Ronaldo rivalry, but this time, the battleground is lifestyle as much as it is legacy.
