- Bruno Fernandes not happy with Man Utd draw vs Sunderland
- Shouted at two teammates during the game
- FWA Player of the Year chasing Premier League record
Bruno Fernandes was spotted moaning at two Manchester United teammates in yesterday’s 0-0 draw against Sunderland. The Red Devils took just a point at the Stadium of Light.
The United captain picked up the FWA Player of the Season award this week ahead of the encounter with the Black Cats. The Portuguese playmaker was acknowledged for a sensational season.
Fernandes is just two assists away from breaking the Premier League single-season assist record currently held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne. He had the chance to add to his tally yesterday against Sunderland, but failed to do so.

Bruno Fernandes Fumes With Man Utd Duo
Fernandes was initially infuriated with Amad Dallo after the winger failed to get on the end of his pass. The United skipper’s pass went out of play, and he was quick to point at the teammate, suggesting that there was no effort to get to the ball.
The midfielder also voiced his frustration with the efforts of Joshua Zirkzee later in the game. The Dutchman failed to play a simple pass at the edge of the box in the first half, and the Portuguese had his head in his hands.
The Red Devils captain didn’t enjoy the best of games, and things got worse towards the end. Sunderland star Nilson Angulo avoided a red card, despite clearly catching the 30-year-old wth his arm.
Michael Carrick on Fernandes’ Future
Michael Carrick spoke about Fernandes ahead of the game, calling for the club to keep hold of the club captain beyond the summer. The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer:
“I think Bruno, you can see he’s happy and he’s playing some fantastic football. Maybe he’s as good as he’s played ever and he’s had really good spells here. So he looks happy. I think he’s got a big end to the season here. He’s got a big summer, of course. But yeah, as a football club, we love having him here. He’s a big part of what we do.”
Fernandes does have a €65 mllon release clause in his contract this summer. He snubbed an astronomical salary offer from Saudi giants Al-Hilal last summer.
