Manchester United fans will absolutely love Fabrizio Romano’s overnight transfer update
  • Amad Diallo linked with a move to AC Milan
  • Fabrizio Romano confirms attacker is going nowhere
  • Michael Carrick wants to keep Amad at Manchester United

In recent days, Mason Mount and Amad Diallo have been linked with a move to AC Milan due to the Ruben Amorim connection.

However, Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on the latter, confirming that he is going absolutely nowhere this summer.

Amad has been a key player for the club and featured regularly under Michael Carrick last season as the Red Devils secured a third-place finish in the Premier League.

And now, Romano has categorically confirmed that the Ivorian is very much part of the Red Devils’ squad planning for the forthcoming season.

Amad Diallo not leaving Manchester United

Rumours linking Amad with a move to Italy emerged and naturally, a lot of fans across the world got talking.

However, in a late-night transfer update on his YouTube channel, Romano has confirmed that Carrick wants to keep him at the club, having already spoken to the Manchester United hierarchy.

“We had some rumours from Italy about Amad Diallo and whether he could go to AC Milan with Ruben Amorim,” began Romano.

“Let me clarify one thing – Manchester United have been very clear. He is not for sale this summer. They will not let Amad leave.

“They want to continue with him and Michael Carrick has confirmed his decision with the club. The direction is very clear – Amad Diallo is expected to stay at Manchester United.”

Carrick clearly a big fan

Towards the back end of the previous season, Amad suffered a bit of a dip in form as he failed to record a goal contribution after representing the Ivory Coast at AFCON.

However, in May, Carrick singled out the attacker for special praise, suggesting that what he adds to the team is way more than what the stats suggest.

“I actually think he’s playing well, Amad,” the United coach said via ESPN.

“I think there’s an awful lot more in the game, playing in a winning team like he has, to worry about numbers.

“I think he gives the team so much. He’s got so much talent, he’s got so much ability, but his work ethic and his attitude is fantastic as well.

“He’s played different roles at times. Yeah, I’m a big fan of Amad.

“I think he was unlucky and unfortunate that we had to change things tactically the other night and that was purely why he came off.

“But, yeah, I think he’s given the team an awful lot and it’s the underbelly of what goes into the performance, not always what the headline grabs that actually prove to be as a team that’s going to be successful and Amad’s part of that.”

Amad is clearly highly regarded by the boss and has been a key player for the club despite not notching up the required end product last season.

He is still young and has a long way to go his in his career, so Manchester United shouldn’t even entertain the thought of parting with him.
