Michael Carrick says Manchester United are ready to “kick on” next season as he prepares to lead the club into a campaign with European football back at Old Trafford.
Writing in United’s official yearbook, Carrick said the squad have shown they can beat the strongest teams in the Premier League.
“We know we’ve got what it takes to beat the best teams in this league,” Carrick said.
“Now it’s about doing that over a full Premier League campaign, while also fighting for every trophy available to us.”
Carrick also pointed to the return of European nights at Old Trafford.
“I cannot wait to lead the group forward next season and for those special European nights to return to Old Trafford,” he added.
“We are ready to kick on and give you more of the great moments that United are all about.”

Carrick’s message fits the mood around United after a strong finish to last season.
The club returned to Europe under his management, but Carrick has made clear that qualification alone cannot become the ceiling. His focus is now on turning big-game results into consistency across the full campaign.
