Ayden Heaven has praised Harry Maguire’s influence after the defenders started together during Manchester United’s pre-season win over Rosenborg.
Heaven played next to Maguire as United recorded a 5-0 victory in Trondheim. Leny Yoro and Luke Shaw completed Carrick’s starting back four, while Maguire captained the side. Manchester United’s official team announcement confirmed the defensive selection.
Speaking after the game, Heaven explained how Maguire’s communication helps him during matches.
“I love it,” Heaven said. “Obviously, he helps me a lot. He’s had years of experience playing and he’s always a good partner to play with.”
The former Arsenal youngster added that Maguire regularly encourages him to become more vocal.
“He speaks a lot, he always tells me to speak and I work on that with him.”
