‘Here we go’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms Altay Bayindir Man Utd exit

Manchester United have agreed a deal with Celta Vigo for Altay Bayindir to leave Old Trafford on loan, with Fabrizio Romano giving the move his trademark “here we go” confirmation.

The Turkey international has been authorised by United to travel to Spain and complete his medical before signing his contract.

Romano reports that Celta will take Bayindir on loan for the 2026/27 season, with the agreement including a €4million option to buy.

The eventual fee could change depending on the number of appearances the goalkeeper makes during his spell in La Liga.

Spanish reports had already indicated that Celta expected to complete their goalkeeper signing imminently. Cadena SER’s latest Celta Vigo goalkeeper update

Altay Bayindir set to leave Manchester United

Bayindir’s departure has been expected throughout the summer after falling behind Senne Lammens in Michael Carrick’s plans.

United have already signed Karl Darlow to provide experienced cover behind their established No.1, making another season with limited opportunities unattractive for the 28-year-old.

Bayindir joined United from Fenerbahce in 2023 but struggled to secure regular football during his three seasons at Old Trafford.

His most memorable performance came against Arsenal in the FA Cup in January 2025, when he saved a penalty during normal time before helping United win the shootout.

United have continued reshaping Carrick’s squad during the final weeks of the window. ReadManUtd reported on Tuesday that the club are reassessing how their remaining transfer resources should be used as several squad decisions are finalised.

Celta should now provide Bayindir with a clearer opportunity to compete for regular first-team football.

The transfer is not officially complete until he passes his medical and signs the paperwork, but United have now given him permission to travel and the agreement between the clubs is in place.
