Manchester United are working on a deal to sign Leicester City midfielder Louis Page as the club continue targeting some of the best young talent in English football.
BBC Sport reporter Sami Mokbel reports that talks over a deal are ongoing, with the Red Devils attempting to advance an agreement for the 18-year-old.
Arsenal and Aston Villa have also shown significant interest in Page in recent weeks, meaning United face competition if they are to bring the England Under-20 international to Old Trafford.
Page has already made 21 senior appearances for Leicester despite only turning 18 in July. His latest outing came during Saturday’s Carabao Cup victory over Northampton Town.
United have remained active across several areas of the market ahead of the new season, with ReadManUtd’s latest transfer round-up covering the other deals currently developing at Old Trafford.
Manchester United Louis Page talks continue
Page emerged as one of the Championship’s most highly-rated young midfielders during Leicester’s difficult 2025/26 campaign.
He made 18 Championship appearances and was rewarded for his breakthrough by winning the EFL Championship Apprentice of the Season award in April.
The EFL confirmed Page as the winner, with the midfielder having joined Leicester’s academy at Under-9 level before progressing into the senior side.
Leicester also named him their Development Squad Player of the Season following his first-team breakthrough.
The Foxes secured Page on professional terms in September 2025, so United would need to agree a transfer fee rather than a compensation package.
His experience already sets him apart from many academy recruits. Page has played meaningful senior football in the Championship and is capable of operating in different midfield roles.
A Manchester United Louis Page agreement would also continue the club’s recent focus on recruiting young players before their valuations rise significantly.
United have already invested heavily in that strategy and Page now appears to be the latest player identified as someone capable of developing towards Michael Carrick’s first-team squad.
