WATCH: Marcus Rashford spotted back at Carrington as Man Utd return takes major step

Marcus Rashford has been spotted back at Carrington as his Manchester United return moves another significant step closer.

Fresh footage shared by utdreport on X shows Rashford arriving at United’s training complex on Sunday, less than 24 hours after Michael Carrick publicly confirmed the forward would be reintegrated into his group.

Rashford has not played for United since December 2024 and spent the following 18 months away from the first-team picture through loan spells at Aston Villa and Barcelona.

His appearance at Carrington is therefore significant.

It does not confirm Rashford has returned to full first-team training yet, but it is the clearest visual evidence so far that the next stage of his United comeback is underway.

Carrick addressed Rashford’s situation following Saturday’s 1-1 friendly draw with Paris Saint-Germain.

ReadManUtd reported that Carrick confirmed Rashford would rejoin the Manchester United group, with the pair set to work together again after previously sharing a dressing room at Old Trafford.

Carrick was still a United player when Rashford made his senior debut against Midtjylland in February 2016.

“I’ve played with him. I played in the game he made his debut, so we have a history,” Carrick said after the PSG game.

Rashford is expected to be part of the group preparing for United’s remaining pre-season programme, with Carrick’s side facing Leeds United in Dublin on Wednesday.

Previous reporting had already indicated Rashford was due to rejoin United following his post-World Cup break, after Barcelona decided not to make his loan move permanent.

His longer-term future remains less certain.

United could still consider a permanent transfer if a suitable opportunity emerges before the window closes, but Carrick has made clear that Rashford will be treated as part of his squad in the meantime.

Sunday’s Carrington footage provides the first visible sign of that process beginning.

After 18 months away from Manchester United’s first-team environment, Rashford is back through the gates.
