Bryan Mbeumo delighted to see teammate make a comeback

Bryan Mbeumo is delighted to see Marcus Rashford back in the Manchester United squad after a long absence from the club.

Marcus Rashford made his return during United’s opening-day 2-0 defeat to Hull City, coming off the bench for the final 45 minutes. It was his first competitive appearance since December 2024. Rashford had spent time away from Old Trafford with two loan spells at Aston Villa and Barcelona, after falling out with Ruben Amorim.

The England international then featured for 80 minutes in United’s much-improved performance against Ipswich Town, winning 5-2.

Speaking after that result, Mbeumo was asked about sharing the pitch with Rashford again and was clearly pleased to have the forward back around the squad.

“It’s really good to have him back. We know his quality and impact for the club. He looks happy to be with us. Everyone is really part of the good links and he’s part of this,” Mbeumo told Sky Sports.

Rashford’s return has been a significant change after his prolonged period away from the first team. For Mbeumo, though, the important thing appears to be seeing his teammate enjoying his football again.

The Manchester United forward also highlighted the connection within the group, suggesting Rashford is once again becoming part of what the team is building together.

After featuring for 45 minutes against Hull and then 80 against Ipswich, Rashford has now taken another step towards getting back to his previous level.
