Kobbie Mainoo wins Manchester United Player of the Month award by a landslide

Kobbie Mainoo has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for September after an excellent run of performances for Michael Carrick’s side.

The midfielder comfortably topped the supporters’ vote as per United’s official results, picking up 82 per cent of the total votes. Matheus Cunha finished second with 13 per cent, while Youri Tielemans took third place with five per cent.

Kobbie Mainoo was involved in four starts during September and consistently impressed, building on the strong start he made to the campaign. He had already finished second in August’s vote behind captain Bruno Fernandes.

Kobbie Mainoo continues to make his mark

The 21-year-old produced one of his best displays of the month in the Premier League against Everton, where he supplied the assist for Bryan Mbeumo’s opening goal.

He also earned praise from United supporters after being substituted during the Fulham match, with the away fans praising the England international.

Mainoo wasn’t directly involved in a goal during the Champions League victory over Sabah FK, but his performance still caught Carrick’s attention. The United manager described him as a “fantastic player” after the game.

That growing recognition from both the manager and supporters reflects Mainoo’s influence during a promising period.

His September award also shows how quickly the midfielder has risen in the club’s pecking order. After narrowly missing out to Fernandes in August, Mainoo has now gone one better.

With his performances continuing to attract praise, the latest award gives Mainoo another personal landmark during what has been an impressive start to the season.
