Two Manchester City stars Man Utd must sign after City verdict

Manchester United have been urged to raid Manchester City for Gianluigi Donnarumma and Elliot Anderson should their neighbours suffer relegation following the outcome of their ongoing Premier League case.

Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor believes Manchester United would have a major opportunity to strengthen their squad if City were forced into the lower divisions, following the latest news on 114 charges.

Donnarumma would be the first name on Agbonlahor’s list. The Italian goalkeeper joined City from Paris Saint-Germain in 2025 for £26million and has since established himself as their first-choice goalkeeper.

Agbonlahor questioned United’s current situation between the posts and suggested Donnarumma would be a significant upgrade.

United urged to revisit Elliot Anderson interest

Elliot Anderson is another player who has previously been on United’s radar. The midfielder joined Nottingham Forest before moving to City and United were reportedly interested in signing him during the summer.

Agbonlahor believes the situation could now present United with an opportunity to return for the midfielder at a lower price.

“Elliot Anderson – Manchester United wanted you, now you go there,” Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT as quoted by Football 365.

“Manchester United – you wanted Elliot Anderson, go and get him for maybe half the price.”

He also called for United to pursue Donnarumma. “Donnarumma – I have been watching Lammens. Poor at the World Cup, cost Belgium in that game, and I think he has not been great this season.”

“I will say Donnarumma to Manchester United. Manchester United will go and nick their number one goalkeeper.”

Any such move would depend entirely on what happens with City and their players. But Agbonlahor has already identified two names he believes could strengthen Michael Carrick’s squad if the opportunity arises.
