Two more Manchester United players get England call-up

Manchester United Women duo Maya Le Tissier and Jess Park have been named in Sarina Wiegman’s latest England squad ahead of two crucial World Cup qualifying matches against Greece.

The Lionesses will face Greece over two legs during the October international break, with the first meeting taking place at the Pankritio Stadium in Crete on October 9. The return fixture will be played at Leicester’s King Power Stadium four days later.

England must come through the two-legged play-off to progress to the next stage, with qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil at stake.

Le Tissier and Park eye more England appearances

Manchester United captain Le Tissier will be hoping to add to her 14 England caps after being part of the squad that won UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.

Park was also involved in England’s European Championship triumph before completing her move to Manchester United during the same summer.

The midfielder currently has 26 international appearances and has scored five goals for the Lionesses. Her most recent goals came in March, when she scored twice during England’s 6-1 Nations League victory over Ukraine.

Both players have now been given another opportunity to make an impact for Wiegman’s side as England begin their latest push towards the World Cup.

The call-ups highlights the growing international involvement fot two of Olid’s big names, with Le Tissier continuing to lead from the back and Park offering an attacking threat in midfield.
