JJ Gabriel has made an apparent U-turn on social media after wiping his Instagram account clean earlier this month amid the growing uncertainty over his Manchester United future.
The 15-year-old removed his photos following reports that he wanted to leave Manchester United, with his situation attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs. JJ Gabriel had also been linked with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, while super agent Ali Barat has been involved in the situation.
Gabriel has now restored two posts to his Instagram account and appears to remain active on the platform. The Manchester United youngster also shared a training clip on his Instagram Stories for his huge following of around 862,000 people.
Gabriel restores Manchester United-related memories
One of the restored posts shows Gabriel signing a long-term contract with Nike Football. The teenager is pictured putting pen to paper before posing inside the company’s studio.
The other features Gabriel with his 2025/26 U18 Player of the Season award. He is pictured alongside Alan Shearer while holding the trophy.
The social media activity comes as Gabriel continues to weigh up his next move. Reports claim he has been taking part in individual training away from Carrington while his future remains unresolved.
Barcelona are reportedly not currently looking to sign the youngster, although sporting director Deco is understood to have remained in contact with Gabriel’s father, as reported by Manchester Evening News.
Gabriel’s Instagram activity does not provide any clear indication about what comes next. His decision to restore some of his old posts, though, marks a noticeable change just two weeks after he removed them amid the Manchester United exit saga.
