Senne Lammens insists the pressure of playing for Manchester United has not changed him, despite the intense attention that has followed the goalkeeper since his move to Old Trafford.
The Belgian has quickly found himself under the spotlight after stepping into a major role at Manchester United, with every performance analysed closely. Senne Lammens, though, believes the scrutiny is something players have to learn to handle.
Speaking during a press conference in Belgium, as quoted by the Manchester United official site, he explained that mentality is key when dealing with constant outside opinions.
“For me, personally, no, but I can imagine that, for some players, it might change them a little bit,” Lammens said.

The 24-year-old admitted that the level of attention can be difficult for players who lack confidence in themselves.
“I think if you’re not mentally strong and not confident in yourself, then sometimes that’s difficult,” he explained. “What with all that pressure and a lot of people everywhere having something to say about it.”
Lammens believes his experience in the Premier League is already helping him deal with those demands. Rather than seeing the pressure as something that holds him back, he feels the important matches he has played have prepared him for international football.
“For me, there’s not much difference between the Premier League and playing here [for Belgium],” he said.
The goalkeeper also appears settled within the Belgium squad, particularly with Mark van Bommel now in charge. Lammens already knows the coach from his time at Antwerp and feels comfortable with the way Belgium are playing.
“I try to show my quality and move forward, and I feel very good in the group,” he added.
Michael Carrick will be hoping that his No.1 can show the same form as he did against Turkey when he reports back to face Tottenham next. Manchester United are yet to secure a clean sheet this season in the Premier League.
