United Reject Sevilla Bid For Defender

Manchester United have rejected an undisclosed offer from Spanish side Sevilla for Argentinian defender Marcos Rojo, according to Tancredi Palmeri.

Rojo started 20 games for United in an injury-hit 2015/16 season under Louis Van Gaal, but may struggle to earn a place in the starting XI this year due to the signing of Eric Bailly and the return from injury of Luke Shaw.

United forked out €20 million for the Argentinian international in 2014 and are likely to seek a large chunk of this fee back in order to offload the defender.

Rojo had been linked with a move to Villarreal in the past few days, as they look to fill the gap left by Bailly’s move to United.

Following a disappointing Copa America final defeat to Chile, Rojo is back with the United squad as they jet off to begin their pre-season tour in China.
