Manchester United and Antoine Griezmann seem a match made in heaven; United seem somewhat of a sleeping giant, in need of one or two more big additions to re-attain their super-power status. Griezmann is one of the finest players in the world, currently playing for a club smaller than United – and one which is also struggling at the moment.
The Frenchman has previously hinted that he may be interested in a move to Manchester, having spoken of his adoration of David Beckham and his wish to play alongside international team-mate Paul Pogba at club level.
However, it is possible that the Frenchman won’t be on his way to Old Trafford this summer – with Antoine having stated that he is happy at his current club [via the Daily Star]:
“I feel great at the club and in Madrid.
“On a personal level I’m very happy, and in football terms we’re about to move to a new stadium, which is very important.
“We’ll just have to see what the future brings, but for now I’m very happy here and I hope to win trophies with this club.”
So who could United bring in this summer if Griezmann doesn’t make the switch from red and white stripes to, well, red?
Here are five strikers who could fit the bill… Note that the title says realistic, meaning that the likes of Paulo Dybala, Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo have been left out.
