It has been reported that Manchester United are ready to hijack the possible transfer of Antoine Griezmann to FC Barcelona, according to Calcio Mercato.
Griezmann has been performing excellently for Atlético de Madrid for the past few seasons that he has been in the Spanish capital, and has been the subject of much transfer speculation for many a transfer window.
He has been reportedly ready to move to La Liga rivals FC Barcelona for quite a while, but it looks as if José Mourinho, former manager of Atléti’s rivals, Real Madrid, is ready to hijack to deal.
It is believed that Diego Simeone will be more willing to sell Griezmann to a club who is not a domestic rival, and the prospect of sending him to England and Manchester United may appeal to him.

However, United are not alone, with PSG looking fondly at Griezmann and see him reportedly as a great replacement for Neymar, who is subject to transfer speculation linking him to Real Madrid.
If he were to move to Old Trafford, he would be competing for a place in the starting XI along with Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford, Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Anthony Martial.
But with United’s attack already showing a lot of firepower, Mourinho may add the quality of Griezmann to try and push next season for a better attempt at securing the Premier League title.
