- Man Utd eyeing Iliman Ndiaye
- Everton name their price
- Red Devils should drop their interest
Manchester United will surely be put off by Everton’s valuation of Senegalese winger Iliman Ndiaye. He is on the club’s shortlist as they consider bringing a new wide man to Old Trafford.
Reports claim that Ndiaye is viewed by United as an alternative to Morgan Rogers. The higher-ups are weighing up moving for a new winger to add to Michael Carrick’s squad.
Ndiaye enjoyed a fine season with Everton, posting six goals and three assists in 34 games across competitions. He possesses a versatile profile which sees him play in various attacking positions along with his preferred place on the left wing.
Man Utd told to cough up huge Ndiaye fee
United’s admiration of Ndiaye might remain just that given the fee Everton want for the player. A report from Paddy Boyland of The Athletic claims that the Toffees are demanding around €80m to part ways with the Senegal international.
It is noted that while he hasn’t asked to leave the Merseyside outfit, he has snubbed contract extension offers. Speculation is expected to continue growing over his future but his club are in a strong position given his current deal doesn’t expire until 2029.
United will surely not consider swooping for Ndiaye if they have to pay such a fee. Everton are valuing him based on Anthony Gordon’s move to Barcelona from Newcastle United for the same price.
Look elsewhere
From the Reds’ perspective, paying that amount of money is surely not feasible. They have other areas of Carrick’s squad to strengthen, including in midfield.
Ndiaye first has to push for a move in order to bring Everton to the negotiating table. Even if that happens, there’s no indication that they will budge over their valuation.
United should cool interest in switching their focus to either Rogers, who is worth that amount of money, or exploring other options. Any left winger who does arrive will likely be playing backup to Matheus Cunha or at least competing with the Brazilian for a starting berth.
