Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui is reportedly among Rúben Amorim’s transfer targets at AC Milan.
According to Matteo Moretto, the Morocco international is a player admired by the former United head coach.
However, Milan and United are not currently holding talks over a possible transfer.
It therefore remains an early expression of interest rather than an active negotiation. The situation could develop as Milan shape Amorim’s squad during the summer window.
AC Milan appointed Amorim as their new head coach in June following his departure from Old Trafford in January.
United face Mazraoui decision
Amorim’s interest is understandable after working with Mazraoui at United.
The 28-year-old’s versatility made him a useful member of Amorim’s squad. He can operate at right-back, left-back or as part of a back three.
Michael Carrick must now decide how important that flexibility will be next season.
Mazraoui is due to return to club duty after Morocco’s World Cup quarter-final exit. ReadManUtd recently covered how his return could give Carrick an important pre-season lift.
United have Diogo Dalot among their options on the right, but Mazraoui offers a different profile. His positional intelligence and ability to play on either side add depth across the defence.
No fee has been mentioned, while Milan have yet to open negotiations. United therefore have no immediate decision to make.
However, Amorim’s admiration gives the story a credible route. A formal approach later in the window would force Carrick and the club to judge whether Mazraoui remains part of their plans.
