Fenerbahçe are reportedly preparing to make an official approach to Manchester United for Marcus Rashford.
The Turkish club want to reach an agreement with United quickly before opening more detailed discussions with the forward over personal terms.
Sport Witness, relaying Fanatik, reports that Fenerbahçe officials travelled to Manchester after completing their move for Mason Greenwood.
Rashford has emerged as their latest attacking target, although no formal bid or agreement has yet been reported.
The 28-year-old returned to United after spending last season on loan at Barcelona. The Spanish club decided against making the move permanent and have since strengthened their attack with Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.
Rashford exit could suit Manchester United
United are expected to discuss Rashford’s future once his involvement with England at the World Cup ends.
Michael Carrick must decide whether the academy graduate can return to his squad or whether a permanent departure is best for both parties.
As Read Man Utd recently reported, Barcelona’s move for Adeyemi has closed Rashford’s preferred route back to the Camp Nou.
Fenerbahçe could now offer United a realistic solution. The Istanbul club have shown considerable ambition this summer and are already familiar with negotiating deals involving former United players.
However, Rashford’s salary and personal preference are likely to influence whether talks progress. Fenerbahçe are expected to step up discussions with him only after reaching an agreement with United.
The forward remains under contract at Old Trafford until 2028. United therefore retain control over the structure and value of any transfer.
An official approach would mark the first significant step, but Rashford has not yet agreed to move to Turkey.
