Benjamin Sesko set for fresh transformation after Man Utd return

Manchester United have received a positive Benjamin Sesko training update as the striker continues his recovery ahead of the new season.

Although recent photographs showed a noticeably more muscular physique, he is expected to become leaner once he resumes full training.

Šeško has returned to grass-based work at Carrington after an injury brought his debut Premier League campaign to an early end. However, he has not yet rejoined Michael Carrick’s squad for unrestricted sessions or featured in United’s opening pre-season matches.

The 23-year-old spent part of his rehabilitation period working in the gym. Images released from Carrington subsequently attracted attention from supporters because of the additional muscle he appeared to have gained.

Andy Mitten shares Benjamin Sesko training update

Andy Mitten reports for The National that Šeško is now training on the grass. Despite looking considerably stronger, the Slovenia international is expected to slim down as he returns to full football training.

The update suggests United do not view his current physique as a permanent transformation. A return to regular running, tactical drills and full-intensity sessions should naturally change his conditioning before competitive football resumes.

Carrick will still avoid taking unnecessary risks with his leading centre-forward. United need Šeško available for their Premier League opener, while his recovery could also influence decisions elsewhere in the squad.

Read Man Utd recently reported that Joshua Zirkzee’s possible departure may be delayed until Šeško can train and play without restrictions. Allowing the Dutchman to leave beforehand would reduce Carrick’s senior options through the middle.

The latest Benjamin Sesko training update remains encouraging. He is progressing on the grass, but United will prioritise full fitness over rushing him into their remaining friendlies.
