Teammates back Benjamin Sesko after United legends’ criticism

Benjamin Sesko has received support from Slovenia international Jaka Bijol after comments from Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt regarding the Manchester United striker’s absence against Fulham.

Benjamin Sesko missed Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage with a shin injury, with Wayne Rooney later questioning why the forward was unavailable. Scholes and Butt had also expressed their surprise at Sesko being left out of the squad.

The criticism has reportedly not gone down well in Slovenia, with Leeds defender Bijol stepping in to defend his international teammate and urging him to ignore the outside noise.

“I hope and believe that Beni knows how to distance himself from this kind of pressure,” Bijol said as quoted by Daily Mail.

“When things aren’t going your best on the pitch and you have certain doubts, reading things like this can make your confidence even worse.”

Bijol believes Sesko already knows the quality he possesses and should remain focused on recovering and returning to action.

“He shouldn’t pay too much attention to it, since we all know what quality he has,” he added. “He himself knows what kind of footballer he is, and I think he always shows it with incredible things on the pitch.”

Zan Vipotnik also backs Man Utd striker

Another Slovenian forward, Zan Vipotnik, also offered his support to Sesko and acknowledged the difficulty of dealing with recurring physical issues.

“It’s not easy for him. Recurring physical problems are bad, and to add to that it messes with your head,” Vipotnik said.

The Swansea striker hopes Sesko can return quickly and put the latest setback behind him.

“I really hope and believe his absence from the pitch will be as short as possible and that things will turn for the best very soon,” he added.
