Bryan Mbeumo was among the Manchester United players to make an impact on international duty on Thursday night, scoring for Cameroon in their 3-1 win over Comoros in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Bryan Mbeumo doubled Cameroon’s advantage after getting onto Bill Nsongo’s pass. The Manchester United forward shaped as if he was going to shoot with his right foot before cutting onto his left and finishing into the net.
There was also plenty of United interest in the UEFA Nations League, where Portugal edged Wales 1-0.
Bruno Fernandes started for the holders and almost helped former United No. 7, Cristiano Ronaldo, find the net with an excellent pass. Ronaldo finished the move, but the goal was ruled out by VAR for offside.
Portugal had already taken the lead through Joao Felix in the 22nd minute, with his long-range effort taking a deflection on its way past Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward. Karl Darlow, who would have started in between the sticks for Wales, has already pulled out due to an injury.
Diogo Dalot made a late appearance for Portugal, replacing Joao Cancelo in the 90th minute. Fernandes was also substituted at the same time.
Dorgu involved as Denmark lose to Norway
Patrick Dorgu started on the right wing for Denmark in their 3-2 defeat to Norway and was involved in one of their goals.
The United youngster was booked for pulling back Martin Odegaard, but his evening also included a positive contribution as his corner led to former United forward Rasmus Hojlund scoring for Denmark.
Dorgu was withdrawn in the 74th minute, with Norway taking the points thanks to goals from Oscar Bobb and a brace from Erling Haaland. Martin Damsgaard scored from a free-kick for Denmark.
Attention now turns to Friday, when Leny Yoro could make his senior France debut under new head coach Zinedine Zidane. France travel to Turkey, while Noussair Mazraoui is also involved as Morocco face Gabon.
Youri Tielemans is expected to feature for Belgium against Italy, while Brazil face Australia.
