Ronaldo’s mum would prefer a move to United for her son

Manchester United are almost constantly linked with a move to bring former hitman Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club – it has never materialised since he left Old Trafford over six years ago.

However, Louis van Gaal and co may just have had a huge boost from an unlikely source – the Portuguese superstar’s mum.

According to the Daily Mirror, she feels that United would be a better choice for the Real Madrid man, as she feels that Manchester would be a safer place for her family to live than Paris; Ronaldo has been heavily linked to French champions Paris Saint Germain of late.

This comes after the recent terrorist attacks on the French capital, which included explosions near the Stade de France, whilst a game between France and Germany was ongoing.

Ronaldo joined United from Sporting Lisbon for a fee of around £12,200,000 in 2003 – and left the club six years later in 2009 for a phenomenal price of £80,000,000, after winning the Champions League with the Red Devils in 2007-08.
