Ibrahimovic will only consider United in England

Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will only consider an offer from one Premier League side — Manchester United — according to Sky Sports News.

The former PSG frontman is out of contract this summer and available on a free, but United, whilst the most likely of any English team to secure his signature, are not alone in pursuing Ibrahimovic.

The Swede has said he is considering offers from teams in various countries, which Sky Sports claim includes a lucrative contract offer from an unnamed Chinese Super League club worth over £26 million per season.

Those pieces of information would suggest Ibrahimovic has received an offer from United, but the veteran goalscorer refused to confirm that.

Ibrahimovic has previously worked with Jose Mourinho at Inter, who will soon become United manager himself according to various sources, where the two had a great relationship.

And on Mourinho’s potential arrival as manager at Old Trafford, Ibrahimovic said:

It’s a great move, if you want action you bring Mourinho. I believe he’s the man to bring them back to the top. If you want to win you bring in Mourinho.

A potential arrival to Old Trafford for Ibrahimovic would be a huge indication of United’s appeal as well as Mourinho’s impact on persuading high-quality players to join the club. Having failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League, many might have thought the Reds would struggle to attract player’s of the former PSG striker’s calibre this summer.

Ibrahimovic’s wage demands are in the region of £11 million, which equates to around £220,000 per week, and so are not out of United’s financial reach. However, the Reds would not be willing to match the offer from the Chinese outfit.
