It seems we might have a contender for the most bizarre transfer rumour of the summer.
Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has been offered to Manchester United.
The 26-year-old’s agent, Mino Raiola, wants to keep Balotelli in the Premier League and believes his connections with United manager José Mourinho will seal the deal. Raiola is also the agent for Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who both completed moves to Old Trafford this summer.

Balotelli, of course, was managed by Mourinho when the Portuguese manager took charge of Inter Milan for a two-year spell between 2008 and 2010. However, the pair had a difficult relationship at the San Siro due to the former Italian international’s famous attitude problems.
With Balotelli having played for both Manchester City and Liverpool during his stint in England, a move to United would almost be out of the question for the enigmatic striker and this may just be a bogus rumour to drive up Balotelli’s value, with Jurgen Klopp deeming him surplus to requirements at Anfield.
A number of clubs in England and Italy are believed to be monitoring Balotelli’s situation, including Crystal Palace, Palermo, Chievo and Bologna.
