Manchester United target Jose Fonte has confirmed on his official personal Instagram that Southampton are not set to offer him a new deal at the club.

Fonte has been heavily linked with United since the summer, with the Portugal international enjoying a hugely successful and impressive tournament with his country at Euro 2016.
The 32-year-old would add a lot of experience, composure and defensive quality to United’s back line if they were to make a move for him in the near future.
Fonte has just 18 months remaining on his current deal at St Mary’s and given the emergence of the news that he will not be renewing his deal with the club, Jose Mourinho could sense an opportunity to make a January swoop for his compatriot.
United are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements in January and Fonte looks to be a more than plausible one at a potentially cheap price too.
