Manchester United have joined Juventus, AC Milan and Chelsea in the race to sign Genoa teenager Pietro Pellegri.
This comes according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Metro), who claim that the 17-year-old’s performance against Lazio at the weekend triggered interest from some of Europe’s top sides.

Pellegri, with his father watching from the Genoa bench, scored a brace against Lazio, and La Gazzetta claim that United, Juventus and AC Milan were on the phone to northwestern Italian side immediately after the game, inquiring about the Italy under-17 striker.
The report also claims that the youngster’s agent is currently in England, with suggestion that he is in the country for discussions with United, who are famously a good side for youth products, with Marcus Rashford being a shining example of a young player progressing well in recent seasons.
After his double against Lazio, Pellegri was asked who his idol is. He replied:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He is the best striker in the world.
Could a move to United to learn from his idol be tempting for the young Italian?
