- Man Utd eyeing Jonathan Rowe
- Chelsea lead race for Serie A winger
- Patrick Dorgu could be concerned
Manchester United are reportedly eyeing Jonathan Rowe, although Chelsea is leading the race for the Bologna star. A new left-winger could be on the cards this summer and that might concern Patrick Dorgu.
According to TEAMtalk, United have been monitoring Rowe amid an impressive season at Bologna. He’s appeared 42 times across competitions this season, posting eight goals and four assists.
Chelsea are frontrunners to sign the English attacker who started his career with Norwich City. But the Red Devils are keeping an eye on the 23-year-old.

Man Utd join Rowe race
Bologna are thought to value Rowe at around £39.m which could be an attractive fee for United. There is a need to add more options out wide but the main focus is on overhauling Michael Carrick’s midfield.
If INEOS intend to bring the exciting winger to Old Trafford, they will likely have to see off competition from Chelsea. Aston Villa and Galatasaray are also showing interest.

Rowe will have three years left on his contract this summer, and his former club, Marseille, retains a 10 per cent sell-on clause. An intriguing idea for the Reds could be to offer the out-of-sorts Joshua Zirkzee back to the Italians as part of a deal.
What it could mean for Dorgu
Dorgu has encountered a topsy-turvy spell at United since arriving from Leece in January 2024. The Dane started out as a left wing-back in Ruben Amorim’s three-at-the-back system.
The 21-year-old’s best form came at the start of the year and especially when Carrick replaced Amorim. He moved into a left-wing role and scored in wins over Arsenal and Manchester City.
Dorgu then sustained a hamstring injury and, as a result, missed months’ worth of action. He’s just returned but is now playing second fiddle to Matheus Cunha.
United are believed to view Dorgu as a left winger rather than a full-back option. But the club seem to be looking to sign a new player in this position, which could be problematic for the Denmark international.
Dorgu has made 26 appearances across competitions, scoring three goals and providing as many assists. He has just over four years left on his contract and might need to return to his best form sooner rather than later.
