Manchester United are often one of the busiest clubs in the transfer window and that’s because the papers link the club to every top player. Some of the most outlandish transfer rumours tend to arrive when the window opens each summer.
This summer, INEOS are tasked with a midfield overhaul along with potentially strengthening other areas of Michael Carrick’s squad. A return to the UEFA Champions League is on the horizon and Carrick needs new faces to help compete in Europe and domestically.

June 6th: Ederson delay
Manchester United are set to make Ederson their first signing of Carrick’s reign. The Red Devils have agreed on a £37.8m deal with Atalanta for the midfielder, per Sky Sports.
The transfer won’t occur until early July, though, because the Brazilian is joining from an overseas club. Sun Sport reports that Italy’s transfer system and the international clearing systems will not process his registration to the English FA until July 1st.
That means United and fans will have to wait to see Ederson holding up the shirt and signing his contract. He is expected to be one of three new midfield signings the club makes this summer.
