Romano reports that Danilo was proposed to the club and turned down by INEOS, while Baleba, though “super keen on joining Manchester United,” is not currently viewed as a priority.
Koné is the man United want. Romano says the club have held “concrete conversations” with the France international’s representatives, but cautions that the deal is far from done: “At the moment, Manu Kone remains on Manchester United’s list, but still no bid to Roma, no club-to-club negotiations. That’s the situation for Manu Kone as of today.”
It is a clarifying update on a saga that has run for weeks, and it lines up with recent reporting — including Ben Jacobs’ account of United’s interest in Koné — that the 25-year-old is the priority, but the groundwork with Roma has yet to begin.
