Manchester United are reportedly in the race to sign Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi, but they face competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham for the highly-rated 21-year-old.
Tresoldi enjoyed an excellent first season in Belgium, scoring 22 goals and supplying six assists across 51 appearances in all competitions. His performances helped Club Brugge lift both the Belgian Pro League and Belgian Super Cup, quickly putting him on the radar of several major clubs.
According to reports, United have expressed interest as they assess their options in attack.
Manchester United looking for another forward
United’s interest comes at a time when their attacking options remain a major talking point.
The club are reportedly prepared to cash in on Joshua Zirkzee, while Sesko remains the only recognised forward option. That could leave United needing another striker should Zirkzee depart.
Chelsea and Tottenham are also understood to be interested, while Barcelona have emerged as another serious contender for the striker.
The Spanish giants are reportedly holding the advantage in the race.
That could make things particularly difficult for Manchester United, especially with Tresoldi becoming one of the more sought-after young forwards in Europe.
Club Brugge demanding huge fee
Tresoldi’s current contract runs until 2029, giving the Belgian side little reason to accept a cut-price offer. AS Roma have already tested their resolve with a formal proposal worth £30 million, but that bid was rejected.
Club Brugge are reportedly looking for up to £43 million.
That would represent a significant investment for United, particularly after their spending elsewhere in the squad this summer.
Still, the striker’s numbers and potential could make him an attractive option if United decide they need to add another forward.
